Tony to run 40 marathons in 40 days

Tony Phoenix-Morrison or ‘Tony the Fridge’ is attempting to run from John O’Groats to Lands End, while carrying a Smeg fridge on his back for charity.

His record-breaking attempt will be the equivalent of running 40 marathons in 40 days, with a 7 stone load, and it’s in aid of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Smeg has selected the cause as the company’s national charity for 2013 and its UK brand manager John Davies said: “We truly believe in the extrordinary fundraising efforts of Tony the Fridge in aid of The Bobby Robson Foundation to help detect and treat cancer early.

“We’re behind Tony every single step of the way as our national charity of the year 2013”.
