Space Plug has been designed to eliminate the traditional “service void” in kitchen units, reducing material waste.

A former handyman, Petit shares the “light bulb moment” that sparked the invention.

Talking to podcast host Kevin D. Bannister, he explains the invention was rooted in his frustration with traditional L-brackets as a young carpenter.

Having secured a patent with his father’s support, he then had to find plastics development consultants, manufacturers and prove the concept, engaging with professional online forums.

He also teases the an evolution of Space Plug into a “leg for the wall”, with the goal of making “datum pegs” and for Space Plug to become an industry standard.
