Money raised for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity Many Hands Campaign
Doors, accessories and components supplier TKC has raised more than £10,000 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Many Hands Campaign.
Its 2014 Many Hands campaign, which is spearheaded by Theo Paphitis, is raising funds for the hospital’s specialist Burns Unit, to help buy equipment and to develop child-friendly areas for young patients and their families.
TKC, which has been trading for 25 years, became involved with Many Hands when company director Chris Hazelhurt had a friend whose two-year old daughter was treated by the hospital’s burns unit.

The fundraising efforts include office administration assistant Amanda Jackson shaving off her hair and raising over £1,100, while Hazlehurst’s daughters, aged eight and 10, took part in a fun run, organised donations from local businesses and pitched Dragon’s Den-style initiatives to their school governors.
Hazlehurst commented: “TKC employees have really got behind the Many Hands Campaign with many of our staff taking part in fundraising initiatives, organising sponsorships or making donations. Amanda, in particular, showed enormous commitment by having her head shaved in the office while colleagues watched.”
