Bathroom Singer of the Year competition in aid of charity

Celebrating the launch of its Energy Collection, Twyford’s has now launched a fun competition, Bathroom Singer of the Year, in aid of charity.

Designed to appeal to retailers, merchants, distributors and consumers, and open from September 1, 2014, the competition will be looking for those who like to ‘belt it out in the bathroom’.

Entrants aged over 18 need to log onto the Bathroom Singer of the Year webpage to register and donate an entry fee of £10 to Children in Need, before uploading a 90 second clip of them, colleagues or friends singing in the bathroom or using props that provide a link to a bathroom setting.

Within the trade, Twyford is encouraging industry figures and customer to sing a song and organise fundraising ‘bathroom singing’ events on their premises for employees and customers. This will be supported by flyers, POS and press release templates to help promote the competition locally.

The best performances will appear across Twyford’s social media platforms for public feedback and a judging panel with links to the company’s home town of Stoke, will create a shortlist of six.

The panel will be headed by celebrity Jonathan Wilkes, professional voice coach Sally Rivers, CEO of the BMA Yvonne Orgill, Business editor of the Stoke Sentinel Ann King and Twyford’s trade marketing manager Sabine Tawfik.

All six finalists will be invited to appear on a Bathroom Stage at the Grand Finale before a specially invited audience on November 8, with the winner receiving a Golden Mic and £1,000, with runners up also receiving cash prizes.

Sabine Tawfik commented: “So many people like to sing in the bathroom and ‘Bathroom Singer of the Year’ gives us the opportunity to engage with and involve our trade partners in support of the recent Energy Collection launch – with the added incentive of collectively trying to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need. We’re hoping that consumers and customers will get on board with us to have a bit of good old-fashioned fun and laughter for a good cause.
