Used Kitchen Exchange has been presented the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in recognition of its achievements for Sustainable Development in the kitchen industry.

Used Kitchen Exchange (UKE) has been presented the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in recognition of its achievements for Sustainable Development within the kitchen industry.

Used Kitchen Exchange named Queen’s Award winner

UKE buys and sells used kitchens, whether ex-displays from manufacturers and retailers or customers’ second-hand furniture and appliances.

According to the company, its partnership with retailers and manufacturers has saved over 12million kgs of carbon.

The 2022 judging panel commended Used Kitchen Exchange (UKE) stating: “UKE has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development because they demonstrate sustainable thinking throughout the whole product process and delivery, including influencing the wider kitchen supply industry.”

The company is one of only 225 organisations, nationally, recognised in this award category since its inception in 1993.

Armac Martin and Roman have also been presented Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2022.

Founder of UKE Helen Lord commented: “We are exceptionally proud and humbled to receive this prestigious award for Sustainable Development.

“Since our inception in 2015 we have invested heavily in developing our sustainability credentials.

“The success of UKE is a direct result of the passion and commitment shown by our team and the amazing support we have received from our kitchen industry partners.

“Together we have made massive inroads into improving sustainability and we look forward to further developing this within the wider KBB sector.”
