Victorian Plumbing exceeds 5million GBP profit

Company claims to be the most profitable in its sector

Online retailer Victorian Plumbing, which is claimed to be run by the UK’s first ebay millionaire Mark Radcliffe, has announced net profits of over £5million in its 18 month results.

The company, which was established 15 years’ ago in Mark Radcliffe’s shed in Southport has reported profit margins rising to 40.2% against the previous year and reports it as the most profitable in its sector.

These results are attributed to its pay-per-click advertising, business intelligence and search engine marketing, as well as TV advertising on Channel 4.

Victorian Plumbing has reported its TV adverting led to a 38% increase in unique visitors to its website over the past 12 months.

According to the company, it is the highest ranking, online specialist bathroom retailer and appears in the top 1000 UK websites.

In the last six months, which ended in March 2007, turnover and growth exceeded the previous year’s 12 month results with turnover growing by 15% and net profit 12%.

This financial report follows the inclusion of the company on the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 companies to Inspire Britain’, which celebrates the fastest-growing SMEs in the UK.

Victorian Plumbing was also listed at number 16 on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 last year.
