It has been embraced by major builders’ merchants and DIY chains, in the UK, with the label featuring across their stores. In addition, it can be seen on bathroom and kitchen products across 32 European countries.

Together with its accompanying Water Calculator, the European Water Label is used by architects and specifiers to identify water usage of products.

Chief executive of the BMA, Yvonne Orgill commented: “Needless to say we are absolutely delighted, thrilled to bits in fact.” She continued: “It’s taken a number of years of hard work and determination by many people, particularly the staff of the BMA, to get The Water Label to this level of success and it’s wonderful to be given the recognition for it.”
