This year, it has secured one of the first woman fast jet fighter pilots Mandy Hickson as a keynote speaker at the event.

Founder of WIT and CEO of Stopcocks Group Hattie Hasan MBE commented: “We’re delighted to partner with Williams and bring such an exciting speaker to WIT this July.

“Mandy Hickson’s story is genuinely breath-taking at times, she’s a real inspiration.

“Williams bring fantastic customer service to the next level and we recommend them as a supplier to all the women plumbers and heating engineers we encounter!

“All the research suggests that tradeswomen have excellent customer service and we’re stopcock-a-hoop to partner with Williams who’ve won awards for exactly this!”

Established since 1972, Williams started as a local, independent merchant to become a regional independent and now has 44 branches and an ecommerce platform.

It has been recognised by multiple industry bodies, including as an ‘Inspiring business’ by the London Stock Exchange, one of the Best Companies to work for by the Sunday Times and in the builders merchants’ industry for its customer service and excellence.

Managing director of Williams Ray Stafford commented “We are excited to be supporting the WIT event in July.

“Williams recognise the invaluable work that Hattie Hasan MBE and the team at Stopcocks are doing to raise the profile of the plumbing industry as a desirable career path for women, increasing the numbers of women plumbers and heating engineers and improving conditions for tradeswomen and the industry as a whole.

“We have been supporters of the event since 2017 and are delighted we can take that relationship to the next level.”

The full-day event with lunch offers the opportunity for attendees to share stories, network, chat to the sponsors and enter a raffle to win prizes.
