Retailer Wren Kitchens has invested over £1million in its 79th kitchen showroom, set to open in Tamworth in the West Midlands on June 14.
Reportedly the biggest kitchen showroom in Tamworth, measuring 10,000sq ft, the retailer has created 23 jobs at the store.
Alongside kitchen displays, and a first for Wren Kitchens, the showroom will also feature an interior design studio.
Created so it can be used by local interiors designers, the studio features samples, design books, mood boards and Macs.
In addition, it will boast smart kitchen technology including Alexa and Google Home Hub to control kitchen lighting and appliances, as well as virtual reality headsets to see projects in 3D.
To launch the showroom, the Mayor Councillor Tamworth Richard Kingstone will officially cut the ribbon.
General showroom manager of Wren Kitchens Peter O’Mera will be taking on the Tamworth showroom, having relocated from its nearby Merry Hill studio.
He commented: “It has taken three months to completely transform the building and the substantial amount we’ve invested demonstrates our commitment to the local area.”
Wren manufacturers more than 2,000 kitchens a week at three production facilities in North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
The company recently announced Wren has plans to invest £120million in a fourth manufacturing facility in the Humber, creating 1,200 jobs.
This year, Wren has been named the UK’s best retailer employer and has been awarded the Fira International Gold Standard Certification by the Furniture Industry Research Association for products and installation.
