Haier appoints general manager for Europe

Former Whirlpool man Vincent Rotger takes on Northern and Eastern European regions

Household appliance brand Haier has appointed Vincent Rotger as general manager for the Northern and Eastern European regions.

He will be responsible for four Haier subsidiaries, including: UK & Ireland, German, Benelux and Polish markets, in addition to Eastern European countries where Haier is active.

In the UK & Ireland market alone, the company’s objectives are to increase brand awareness and market share, with an overall aim to become one of the top five appliance manufacturers in Europe.

Rotger’s appointment follows a 19-year career at Whirlpool, where he most recently acted as business unit director for Whirlpool France.

He joined Whirlpool in 1996 and rose through the ranks to hold senior positions in its EMEA structure.

Commenting on the appointment of Vincent Rotger, CEO of Haier Europe Yannick Fierling said: “Vincent has a proven track record in business growth and we are convinvced he is the right person to strengthen our European organisation. The European home appliances industry is extremely competitive, but Haier has the resources and strategy to play an increasingly important role.
