Rob Ponting, Simon Jarvis and Shelley Haines join board of directors

Smeg has appointed Rob Ponting, Simon Jarvis and Shelley Haines to its board of directors.

Rob Pointing is the newly-appointed commercial director who will oversee all aspects of service delivery from the company’s in-house logisitics and transportation business, through to its service arm. He has 33 years’ experience of logistics and service industries and spent 25 years working at the Canon Group. 

Ponting held roles in a variety of departments at the Canon Group, including transport, quality management, procurement and business development before becoming the company’s group commerical director. He held that position for 10 years, which included the support of key accounts in the white goods industry.

Simon Jarvis has been with the company for 15 years as IT manager and has been promoted to the role of operations and IT director. He will be responsible for the development and procedures to improve auditing, enhance automation and aid growth.

Financial controller Shelly Haines, who has worked in the company’s accounts department for 14 years, has been promoted to the role of financial director.

In her new role, she will assume overall responsibility for the finance of the organisation including accounting, credit control, company budgets, auditing and legal.
