Provider of accessibility solutions AKW has launched the AKW Bidet for private installations and social care.

It has been developed to offer a cost-effective, “quick-to-install” and “easy to use” bidet for those wanting a non-permanent solution.

The bidet is mains-fed and offers a range of temperatures, water spray and dryer options, which can be controlled via a handheld remote control.

Boasting a weight limit of 23.5 stone/150kg, it also has side transfer lugs to minimise lateral movement when moving from a wheelchair and has a detachable seat, lid and bidet.

The AKW Bidet includes a 1750W instantaneous water heater with six levels of temperature and delivers waterm water on demand.

There are five rear wash positions and five feminine wash positions, as well as five intensity settings and four modes of spray.

With a 3-minute cycle, the 350W dryer has six temperature settings and five adjustable speeds.

In addition, the bidet incorporates a self-cleaning function and has a built-in LED night light.

Designers can choose from two seat options with sensor to prevent accidental usage.

These include a sculptured seat for use with matching AKW sanitaryware and an ergonomic unit for use with many popular pan designs.
