The biennial event Internazionale del Bagno returned with its eighth edition, as part of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2022.

Featuring 186 visitors, it covered more than 17,140sqm and showcased the latest bathrooms, influenced by technology and sustainability, all while ensuring the space retained emotion.

  1. Kohler

Coupling technological innovation with wellbeing and sustainability, Kohler introduced its Anthem showering control system.

It can govern up to six shower outlets, showerheads and sprays, enabling different types of jet, temperature and flow to be customised and combined.

Anthem could be combined with Kohler Konnect smartphone app for setting fixed or maximum temperatures.

2. Antoniolupi

In collaboration with the Fukas architectural studio, Antoniolupi introduced the freestanding marble basin Wave.

It combines the solidity of carrara marble with a visual lightness and echoes the energy of water.

Wave boasts two folds that don’t overlap perfectly at the end, providing an integral hand towel rail, and using natural stone, the shades of sink model is unrepeatable and provides added exclusivity.

3. Dornbracht

German brassware brand Dornbracht launched a range of rain showers focused on the experiential feeling of rain and chromatherapy.

Focused on rinsing and relaxation the overhead shower uses a concentrated jet of water or rain shower function to offer rain drop.

These are combined with two light sources that can be selected independently to offer spotlight illumination or ambient lighting and can be voice controlled through Alexa or Phillips Hue.

Available in 11 finishes to complement the Dornbract design series, the finishes span from Chrome and Brushed Brass through to new colours of Champagne, Champagne Brushed and Dark Chrome.

4. Artelinea

Italian bathroom brand Artelinea showcased a range of vanities, including mid-century inspired glass fronted vanities Dama and Plisse Legno which combined a wooden vanity with glass basin.

However, arguably the Dicroico freestanding basin collection by Davide Vercelli was a star of the show.

Made from four sheets of stratified glass, the shape of the glass follows the diagram of forces, with triangular geometry, to use as little material as possible.

The film used in the lamination process interacts in a different way, changing its colour depending on the observer’s point of view.

5. Acquabella

Debuting at Eurocucina, Spanish bathroom manufacturer Acquabella showcased its latest bathroom products on its Bali-esque Resort-themed stand.

It showcased its latest products, including the Chrea collection of freestanding basins and bath, Infinity Round and Opal Quiz colour.

These were joined by the Miowa countertop basin, which is also made from the company’s Dolotek, soft-to-touch material, which boasts antibacterial properties.

All the products reflected the themes of the show, with nature, colour and circular shapes coming to the fore.

6. House of Rohl

The House of Rohl officially launched in mainland Europe at the International Bathroom Exhibition at Salone del Mobile.Milan.

The House of Rohl brand encompasses Perrin & Rowe, Victoria + Albert, Shaws and Riobel brands  and was presented in a 200sqm space.

It showcased Wallpaper magazine colour collaborations from Victoria Albert and launched the Canadian Riobel brand into Europe, which are also available to view at its flagship London showroom.

7. Sbordoni

Italian bathroom manufacturer Sbordoni unveiled Plisse, a vanity unit with built-in washbasin and side column cabinet made from MDF.

Inspired by Scandinavian styling, the furnture features a twine of thin strips of woods for the doors and is based around a 650mm basin, chosen because it can be used in small and large bathrooms.

Plisse has been created to suit both contemporary and classical bathroom environments and is shown here with its newly-launched Pina taps.
