Provider of inclusive living solutions AKW has launched an accessible kitchen cupboard – the ActivMotion Glide Wall Unit.

Operated by button or remote control, the unit has been designed to bring the cupboard’s contents within easy reach for wheelchair users or those with limited reach.

An update to its original ActivMotion Unit, the cupboard features and ‘out and down’ movement, so the worktop space below is still accessible and usable.

In addition, it boasts collision detection to prevent hands getting trapped or damage to objects on the worktop.

It is supplied as a complete cupboard in 500mm and 600mm widths, with three shelves, with the middle height adjustable and removable, if required.

All the shelves are fitted with guards, as standard, and the unit comes with two-year guarantee on moving pars and lifetime guarantee on the carcase.

AKW also provides accessible bathrooms, including shower toilets, wet rooms, and most inclusively-designed baths.
