Italian household appliance manufacturer Candy has revealed the Nova connected washing machine which is reportedly the first of its kind to feature a single button for all operations.
The button allows the user to switch on and automatically connect to the company’s hOn App, which is designed to manage all the features of the appliance from a smart phone, or from Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
It has been developed according to analysis of user preferences and habits, such as a survey by Candy which found 21% of people currently start washing cycles from their phone. This figure has tripled, compared to 2018.
The survey also revealed 70% of people said they wanted new washing programs and appreciated tips and suggestions of apps.
With the support of its hOn app, Nova provides a list of more than 60 washing cycle, as well as a Snap & Wash function, which recommends the ideal program from a photo of the laundry.
The app offers more than 500 tips and advice dedicated to washing, from stain removal to choosing the best detergent and how to remove a filter to clean it.
In addition, by monitoring how a consumer is using the machine, it can create personlised washing cycles, which can also be save on the hOn app.
Candy Nova is also available as a washer dryer, with more than 20 cycles for drying, and is equipped with an inverter speed drive motor to enhance energy efficiency.
Candy is part of the Haier Group which outlined its plans for growth in Europe at the IFA exhibition in Berlin.
