Artist Olivia Aspinall, who owns Olivia Aspinall Studio in Nottingham, has collaborated with the Formica Group to produce three splashbacks for its Axiom collection.
She was one of the first designers to create terrazzo with Jesmonite, which won material of the year at London Design Week 2017.
Aspinall created a piece of terrazzo, which was scanned to create a print and produce the splashbacks.
These include: PP8381 Spectra Chip (the original colourway), PP8382 White Chip and PP8372 Grey Chip.
Olivia Aspinall commented on the designs: “We’ve taken the idea of a traditional terrazzo and made it completely customisable.
“We can play with the colour. We can play with the size and ratio of the chips we’re putting in. And that allows us to really design the terrazzo.
“We can change how a surface looks with those delicate changes of colour.”
The Axiom by Formica Group collection offers a range of laminate worktops, upstands and splashbacks.
It includes granite, wood, stone, plain and patterns designs in a range of colours, nine surface textures and two profiles.
All 60 decors in the Axiom range are available as worktops, breakfast bars and as matching upstands.
Selected decors are also available as matching splashbacks and in addition, there are nine complementary splashbacks.
