Global appliances manufacturer and official sponsor of UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Hisense has launched a marketing campaign, Remember the Name, teaming up with charity Women in Sport.

HiSense launches Remember the Name campaign

The Remember the Name campaign shines a spotlight on those competing in the home-based championship, aiming to make public icons of the players and leave a lasting legacy.

Research conducted by the charity revealed half as many girls (30%) as boys (60%) dream of reaching the top in sport, whilst almost two thirds (62%) of girls said seeing top female athletes celebrated made them feel proud.

The campaign will run across digital, social, PR, and out-of-home advertising channels, with billboards visible nationwide at transport hubs, with a particular focus on the tournament’s host cities.

Teaming up with Women in Sport, Hisense is offering customers the chance to claim up to £150 in cashback, with the option to donate a percentage of their reward to the charity.

As part of the campaign, which will run until July 26, 2022, Hisense will match all donations made to the charity pound for pound.

Women In sport is committed to transforming sport for the benefit of every woman and girl in the UK. All donations made to the charity will be matched pound for pound by Hisense.

Head of marketing at Hisense UK Arun Bhatoye said: “We’re delighted to launch our Remember the Name campaign, propelling the women’s game to the nation’s forefront ahead of a busy and exciting summer of sports and shining a light on Europe’s female footballing stars.

“Not only does it give those playing the platform they deserve, but through our partnership with Women in Sport, allows us to really make a difference at a grassroots level and inspire the next generation of stars, which given their research shows a clear need for this.”

Head of engagement and communications at Women in Sport Wendy Hawk added: “We are delighted that Hisense has chosen our charity as part of this campaign to recognise the value of women’s sport and support the increasing profile and investment in female sports stars.

“We believe that every girl should be allowed to dream of reaching the top in sport. We hope that thousands of girls across the country will tune in to watch UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 with their families this summer; to experience the excitement, exhilaration, and euphoria of a world-class sports tournament.

Hisense is also an official sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which follows later in the year.
