Maha El Kharbotly named chief marketing officer of American Standard Brands
Managing director of Grohe UK Maha El Kharbotly is leaving the company to become chief marketing officer of American Standard Brands/ Lixil Water Technology Americas, part of parent company Lixil Corporation.
She will assume the position from October 1, 2015, however will continue to be responsible for Grohe UK as acting managing director until her successor is named.
In her new role, Maha El Kharbotly will have direct overall responsibility for brands, insights, product marketing, channel marketing, plus PR and communication. She will also have indirect responsibility for product design and research, as well as development and engineering.
The first female MD and general manager for Grohe UK, Maha El Kharbotly has held the position since 2012. During this time she has lead the transformation of the UK business, including spearheading the introduction of the first sanitaryware for the Grohe brand, plus unveiling a plumbing training club.
El Kharbotly joined Grohe UK from Grohe in Dusseldorf, where was responsible for the sales and marketing of showers and thermostats.
She led the team to increase the category by more than 15% alone, and was a member of the team that introduced the Grohe five-year innovation portfolio.
Prior to her role with Grohe, El Kharbotly held senior positions across the globe, including a brand management role at Whirlpool Corporation.
