Marion John Design Awards: finalists announced

The Marion John Design Awards, organised by the Federation of Kitchen & Bathroom Designers (FKBD), has announced the finalists of its debut honours programme.


The Marion John Design Awards recognise the skills of designers who have created projects in a confined space. They are named in honour of independent kitchen designer, Marion John, who was a passionate supporter of good design, no matter what size or budget.


There are eight finalists of the awards, across four categories, who include Darryl Brooks of The Kitchen Boutique, Nick Collins of Collins Bespoke Kitchens, Hannah Lewis of Lisa Melvin Design, Mark Hand of Hand Built Designs, Mike Down of Ablutions Luxury Bathrooms, Laura Gompertz who trades under her own name, Stuart Irving of Ablutions Luxury Bathrooms and Vivienne Warman from  Kitchen Co-Ordination.

Awards will be presented to Best Small Bathroom, Best Small Kitchen, Best Small Bathroom using Bespoke Products and Best Small Kitchen using Bespoke Products. The bathrooms measure no more than 5sqm and kitchens no more than 10sqm.


The judging panel includes Sean Phelan of the British Kitchen Designers Association (BKDA), Russell Buckley of Stuart Henry Kitchens, Tim Foley of Kitchens Fitted Interiors and editor of Kitchens & Bathrooms News, Philippa Turrell. All the winners will be announced at the end of March.
