As a company, the manufacturer has invested in staff wellbeing over the past five years.

Commenting on the accolade, managing director Stephen Johnson commented: “We have worked tirelessly to create a company culture that puts the individual first.

“Whilst we value hard work and expect a lot from our staff, we make it a priority to nurture talent through training and development and are always quick to praise and celebrate achievements.

“My goal has always been to create an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work and as such, are seen, valued and empowered to grow in ability and confidence.

“We pour resources into training and staff wellbeing and understand that by investing in our people, they in turn will give back a hundred-fold.”

Earlier this year Johnson hired a performance psychologist to look at how to best connect its people and purpose to drive performance, with the aim of achieving a workplace culture that empowers.

It includes regular personal mentoring, team away days and complementary staff lunches each day,

Stephen Johnson said: “We’re thrilled and honoured to have been recognised as a company committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, as well as being named as an Outstanding Employer at these awards.

“Whilst business growth is obviously vital, we understand that as an employer we have a duty of care to create the best workplace for our employees as possible.

“I believe that growth inevitably comes from a happy team which is why we will continue to prioritise fostering a company culture that includes, celebrates and builds one another up.”

The results of the Employers Excellence Awards are announced at a ceremony in Liverpool on June 13, 2024.
