SBID Design Awards 2016 now open

Call for entries including KBB Design, Show Flats & Developments and Residential Design

The Society of British and International Design (SBID) has opened its Awards for 2016, with a revised website, updated categories and additions to its panel of judges.

Spanning 14 categories, the awards includes KBB Design, Show Flats & Developments, as well as Residential Design for over £1million and under £1million.This year also sees separate categories for Restaurant and Club & Bar Design.

There is a three tier selection process of the winners, with a technical panel and board of creative experts shortlisting the entries, before they are held to a public vote.

This year, the creative judging panel includes the addition of executive director of Which? Richard Lloyd and chief creative officer and design director of Aston Martin Marek Reichmann.

They add to the existing line-up of Lewis Carnie, head of programmes at BBC Radio 2 & 6; Sir Michael Dixon, director at the National History Museum, London ; Kevin Mau, senior creative director at The Boeing Company; Ben McOwen Wilson, director of content partnerships at YouTube; Jane Preston, facilities manager UK, Real Estate & Workplace Services at Google and David Lewis, managing director of Sunseeker London.

The entry deadline is July 11, 2016, with the finalists announced in August 2016, and then the public will be invited to cast their vote for their favourite projects online, which will contribute to the overall scores.

Winners will be named at the SBID International Design Awards ceremony at The Dorchester Hotel in London on November 25, 2016.
