SBID president scoops Built Environment Award
Vanessa Brady wins Women in the City Award
President of the Society of British and International Design (SBID), Vanessa Brady won the Build Environment category for the Women in the City Woman of Achievement Award 2013.
SBID is a professional organisation for interior design and represents members in practice, higher education and industry. It is part of a global network of 50,000 designers who are professionally accredited.
Brady will now be a finalist in the overall Women of Achievement Award, where the prize includes a place on the prestigious Accelerated Development Program delivered by The University of Chicago.
On winning the award, Brady said: “I’m thrilled to be a finalist representative of businesswomen celebrating the contribution women make to the Built Environment. Externally, as an industry sector, it could be incorrectly be considered male dominated. This award provides an opportunity to encourage all men in the industry to change that perception and champion women’s success.”
