Raises £40,000 for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation

Tony Phoenix-Morrison, better known as ‘Tony the Fridge’, has completed his incredible feat of running from John O’Groats to Land’s End, all with a Smeg fridge on his back.

Tony ran 30 half-marathons in 30 days for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which funds projects in the Newcastle area benefitting cancer patients. Upon completion Tony was presented with a cheque for £40,000 from Mike Giddings, MD of Smeg UK.

Giddings commented: “The grit and determination shown by Tony is outstanding and we’re delighted to see him complete his impossible journey, overcoming so many challenges along the way to raise awareness and much needed funds.”
