Investment of EURO 21million in first sanitaryware plant outside of Turkey

Owner of bathroom manufacturer VitrA, the Eczac?ba?? Building Products Division has invested € 21 million in a second factory in Russia, which produces sanitaryware and tiles.It is the company’s first sanitaryware plant outside of its native Turkey and brings the total number of factories to 16.

The Division now has two plants in Russia, two in France, and six each in Turkey and Germany, with its sanitaryware plant in Serpukhov having the annual capacity to make 250,000 pieces.

Eczac?ba?? Group Chairman Bülent Eczac?ba?? and Vice Chairman Faruk Eczac?ba?? hosted the opening ceremony, which was attended by the Moscow Region Minister of Investment and Innovation Denis Petrovich Butsaev, Serpukhov Governor Alexandr Vyacheslavov?ch Shestun, and Turkey’s Ambassador in Moscow, Ayd?n Adnan Sezgin.

Eczac?ba?? President and CEO Dr. Erdal Karamercan, Eczac?ba?? Building Products Executive Vice President Atalay Gümrah, and Eczac?ba?? Building Products Vice Presidents Ahmet Yamaner (Technology and Investments) and Zeki ?afak Ozan (Tiles) also attended the event.

In his speech at the ceremony, Eczac?ba?? Group Chairman Bülent Eczac?ba?? said, “Russia has now become an important production center for us, following Turkey, Germany and France. Ten of the Building Products Division’s 16 plants are located abroad and producing for international markets.”

He added: “We are proud to represent Turkey in different locations around the world with our production facilities as well as our sales.”
