Renovation of adjoining property to add 22,000sqft to premises

British cooker hood manufacturer Westin has completed a phase of expansion, which sees the completion of half of its scheduled work of the adjoining property.

Westin has been manufacturing at Phoenix Mills in Huddersfield since 1921 and acquired the adjoining property Grove Works at the close of 2014.

It has seen the addition of 22,000sqft, increasing Westin’s property to 76,000sq ft and makes the premises accessible from two roads.

Renovation work to the first two floors of Grove Works is complete, with the top floor still underway.

The final phase of expansion, due for completion in 2019, will include more office space, meeting rooms and a product showroom.

Customer service, customer account managers and the finance department will be moved to the new site, with the current site dedicated for manufacturing and training facilities.

Managing director of Westin Ian Sheppard commented: “This investment marks the next logical progression for Westin. Our growth means expanded facilities are essential to meet the requirements of the business in terms of product growth and workforce, and I am delighted that this next phase is complete.”
