Home improvement retailer Wickes has been named the most prominent bathroom brand in 2023, according to an annual report on the sector.

Home improvement retailer Wickes has been named the most prominent bathroom brand in 2023, according to an annual report on the sector.

Conducted by Salience Search Marketing, the report analysed 11 performance indicators, including year-on-year visibility, search volume trends, and brand awareness to reveal the bathroom brands dominating the industry.

Wickes topped the bathroom brands with over 300,000 social media followers and 2.24million brand searches per month.

In fact, Wickes has recently reported improved second quarter sales in 2023, citing bathrooms as performing particularly well.

B&Q was the second most prominent brand in the sector with 201,000 brand searches per month and over 700,000 social media followers.

While Travis Perkins came third with 450,000 brand searches per month and 159,485 social media followers.

This was followed closely by Victorian Plumbing with 301,000 brand searches per month and 147,599 social media followers

When it comes to organic visibility, the report stated there has been a16% increase in overall organic growth within the industry.

B&Q ranked the most visible brand, with a 36% increase, followed by Wickes with a 22% jump since June 2022.

In addition, the report also assessed current product trends, which found toilet roll holder wall mounted saw the biggest increase in searches with a98% increase.

Meanwhile, walk in shower ideas had the biggest decrease in searches, with a 46% drop.

In addition, it found bathroom wall panels had a “sizeable” search volume of over 33,000, with over 16,000 views on TikTok for #bathroomwallpanels.

Managing director at Salience Search Marketing Brett Janes said: “As a whole, it has been a positive year for the industry, with a 16% increase in organic growth and a sizeable volume of searches and visibility.

“Demand for certain products has dipped, with bathroom tiling among those facing a hit as it sees a 13% drop in searches.

“This suggests consumers may be looking for alternatives, with limewash paint a potential alternative as the interior design has surfaced on social media with over 43 million views for #limewashpaint on TikTok.

“Understanding that trends are ever-changing and building a strong online presence across multiple channels becomes crucial in driving sales and capitalszing on the expanding market demand.”
