Kitchen appliance brand Smeg has relaunched a special edition production of its Piano Hob designed by Renzo Piano in 1995.

The collection comprises two hob widths and is made from stainless steel coated in plasma technology to prevent the hob from tarnishing.

The P705ES is 710mm wide and features five burners with a central 3.5kW burner, while the P64ES is 650m wide and has four burners.

Architect Renzo Piano is best known for his works which include the Centre George Pompidou in Paris and Europe’s tallest building The Shard.

The commemorative launch is 35 years after the hob was first unveiled in Milan and comes on the 10th anniversary of The Shard’s construction.
