Over two years, Beko has donated 120 appliances and staff have raised money

Appliance manufacturer Beko has presented children’s charity Barnado’s with a cheque for £75,000, culminating from staff fundraising and gifts.

It was presented to head of partnership development at Barnado’s Forbes Mutch by senior marketing manager for all Beko brands, Alexandra Boon and Beko brand manager Shalika Hooda.

Over the past two years, Beko has donated, delivered and fitted more than 120 appliances for children and their families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford them.

The company will also be continuing its fundraising work with a sponsored London to Paris bike ride which takes place on July 15.

Forbes Mutch of Barnado’s said: “Our relationship with Beko is a great example of where a partnership can work on many different levels, with the company providing cookers and fridges for disadvantages families, while the staff have been raising funds to support our work and organising activities for vulnerable children.

“We really appreciate the commitment of everyone at Beko and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Senior marketing manager for all brands at Beko commented: “Everyone at Beko is proud to be raising money and donating gifts in kind to Barnado’s. The needs of children who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn is something that is very close to our hearts. This enthusiasm really shone through when we recently marked our 25th anniversary and raised £4,000 for Barnado’s at a celebratory event.”
