Paint brand Dulux has announced its Colour of the Year for 2024, Sweet Embrace, described as a “delicate, optimistic and modern tone” to bring a sense of stability and softness to a space.
It has been created to be used on its own or in combination with three supporting colour palettes – Warm, Calm and Uplifting.
The Warm palette is for comforting spaces and is a compilation of global earth tones used to create snug and comforting spaces, and can be used in the bedroom, living, kitchen and dining spaces.

Whereas the Calm palette combines fluid greens and blues to bring a feeling of serenity, and help people relax, for use in bathrooms and home office.
Completing the trio is the Uplifting palette with a a mix of modern yellows with soft lilacs to bring a sense of joy and can also be used in the bathroom or dressing areas.
Colour expert and creative director at Dulux Marianne Shillingford commented: “What is so wonderful about Sweet Embrace is its soothing subtlety.
“While being a beautiful standalone colour, it’s a hue that matches perfectly with so many other shades so that decorators can use it as a backdrop to build a totally individual space upon.
