Turnover up 2.2%
Miele has reported a turnover of €3.2bn in the 2013/14 financial year ending June 30, 2014, which amounts to a year-on-year increase of €69m or 2.2%.
Sales in its native Germany reached €978m, growth of 2.4% and this amounts to 30.6% of its business. Outside Germany, turnover growth has been 1.9%, with Miele reporting double-digit growth in the USA, China and Russia.
Miele has invested €188m in the past year, 12% less than in the previous year, which boasted the company’s biggest ever launch and therefore biggest investment.

The company concentrated on modernisation of production plant and equipment at several facilities, new office premises and the extension of the high-bay transhipment warehouse at the company’s Gutersloh HQ.
Miele is present in 47 countries by its own sales subsidiaries and in 50 further countries through importers. As of June 30, 2014 Miele employed 17,660 staff worldwide, with 10,411 in Germany.
Dr Markus Miele, executive director and co-proprietor said: “At this point Miele is well-positioned to achieve further growth with respect to turnover, unit sales and market shares, even under less favourable market conditions.”
