Senior designer of The London Bath Co Nasser Fahad has advised young people entering the industry to treat the business like it’s their own.

Speaking as part of Kitchens & Bathrooms News video series “Meet the young kbb professionals”, Fahad exclaimed his philosophy helps him stand apart from competitors.

A graduate of Furniture and Product Design degree from Nottingham Trent University, Fahad recommended young people should set their own high standards and treat the company like it is their own.

He exclaimed: “There are thousands of designers out there, it’s what you can bring as an individual that separates you from everybody else.”

Fahad stated: “What my father has always taught me was most people will give 80%. You can give 100%, which is what every person is capable of doing, but 150% is where you set the bar for yourself, end up doing things that you would for your own business and treat it like it’s your own business.

“You have that mentality where you’re not only consistently developing the business you’re working for but yourself, as well, and proving yourself on a consistent basis.”

Fahad concluded: “I genuinely think it is one of the biggest and best industries.

“Whether you’re a sales designer as part of a company or want to eventually build and create your own, you can be successful either way.

“If you’re willing to put in a few extra hours to learn, it will pay you back tenfold in the future.”
