Independent plumbers merchants and bathroom showroom buying group The IPG has appointed Gary Matthews as commercial director.

He will be responsible for engaging suppliers, supporting members’ needs, and contributing to the organisation’s growth plans.

His career spans 30 years in the building materials sector, having previously worked with brands such as Mira, Honeywell, Grohe, and Ideal Standard.

Matthews has experience in customer management, strategy planning and leadership, as well as knowledge of the independent plumbing and heating and kbb sectors.

The IPG was incorporated in 2013 and has attracted over 100 suppliers and 200 member locations nationwide.

According to the buying group, the appointment of Gary Matthews continues to highlight its commitment to suppliers and members, as well as a drive for furthering its expansion plans.
